Platfory

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about earning, privacy, and how Platfory works. Ad software you can actually read.

Blind to your work

Impression and click events only. No code, prompts, or keystrokes are ever read.

Signed & reversible

Updates are cryptographically verified. Uninstall restores every file, byte for byte.

Consent-first

You approve exactly what changes, per tool, before anything happens.

The honest objections

What is Platfory? +

Platfory turns the wait-state in AI coding tools - the spinner while your assistant thinks - into one tasteful sponsored line, and shares the ad revenue with you. Advertisers bid for that moment; you earn a share for the attention you already spend waiting.

Does the extension read my code or prompts? +

No. It collects impression and click events only - never your source code, prompts, AI responses, keystrokes, or file contents. That's a hard design commitment, not a setting.

Is it safe? How is this different from adware? +

Platfory integrates through your AI tool's official status-line hook - no file patching. Updates are cryptographically signed and verified, changes are shown to you and require consent per tool, and everything reverts on uninstall. See our Privacy Policy.

Do you sell my data? +

No. We don't sell personal data and we don't use tracking or advertising cookies. Advertisers see aggregate campaign metrics only, never your identity.

For developers

How do I earn? +

Install Platfory - the VS Code extension, the standalone platfory CLI, or the Claude Code plugin - for Claude Code, the OpenAI Codex CLI, and Kimi, then sign in. While your AI tool is working, a sponsored line appears (a status line and spinner tip in Claude Code; a launch banner in Codex and Kimi). Every impression that's genuinely on screen and every click credits your balance, validated on our servers. Watch it on your dashboard.

How much can I earn? +

Honestly: it's modest, especially early on. Earnings depend on how often you trigger AI wait-states and on advertiser demand. We show your real balance in real time and never inflate projections. Think of it as covering coffee, not rent.

How and when do I get paid? +

Once your balance passes the $5 minimum, cash out in USDC (a US-dollar stablecoin) to a crypto wallet you provide, straight from your dashboard. Bank transfer and PayPal are coming.

Which editors and tools are supported? +

Three ways in, covering three AI tools. The VS Code extension (VS Code, Cursor, VSCodium, Windsurf) and the standalone platfory CLI (any editor or terminal) both integrate Claude Code, the OpenAI Codex CLI, and the Kimi CLI. There is also a Claude Code plugin you install from inside Claude Code. Claude Code gets a status line and spinner tip; Codex and Kimi get a one-per-launch banner. Using Kimi through Claude Code (an Anthropic-compatible endpoint) works with no extra setup. More AI tools are added only after a per-tool ToS check.

How do I uninstall or turn it off? +

In the extension, run "Platfory: Pause" to stop ads or "Platfory: Restore" to revert every change (verified); uninstalling restores automatically. On the CLI, run "platfory disable" to revert a tool, or "platfory disable --all".

How do referrals work? +

Share your referral link from the dashboard. When someone you invite earns their first $1, you receive $1 and they receive $0.50. Rewards unlock only on genuine earnings, so the program can't be farmed.

How do I get support? +

Email support@platfory.ai.

For advertisers

I'm an advertiser - how does it work? +

You reach developers in-editor at a decision moment. Write one sponsored line, set a budget and a bid, and your campaign enters an open second-price auction. You pay only for verified impressions and clicks, and manage everything from the console.

Money we didn't take

An honest network reports the revenue it refuses. Invalid impressions and fraudulent clicks are detected and dropped - never billed to an advertiser, never credited as earnings. Your dashboard shows the ones we didn't bill you for.
